The Traveling Professionals: Helping You Make the Most of Your Vacation Days

You love to travel. You’ve been bitten by the wanderlust bug.

You’ve had a taste of the open road in the American West, felt the air in a windswept mountain pass in the mountains of Patagonia, swum in the crystal waters of a forgotten beach in South East Asia, and you want more.

But you’re busy. Your weekends are already committed. Vacation days are few and far between. Too often you find yourself in a routine, the same bars, same restaurants, same weekend day-drinking. Yet you – like us – realize that experiences are what matter.

When you do travel, you want value. You want to avoid the tourist traps, and find the local experiences that are rich in culture yet sensible on price. You’re willing to shell out when the experience is of a once-in-a-lifetime-quality that merits it – diving in the Great Barrier Reef, hot air ballooning in Cappadocia, or going all-in on a big weekend in one of the world’s great cities.

You want to make the most of your budget, vacation days and weekends away. You’re optimizing for experiences. You want adventures. You want to make memories that fill your year when you look back on it.

If any or all of this describes you, then this is the blog for you.

We’ve been where you are in your day-to-day and we’ve become experts in maximizing our travel time when we manage to get away. We’ve been around the world on a six-month trip and let’s just say that we made our budget go a loooooong way.

We’re building this blog as a resource for you. A place to turn for all types of scenarios.

When you’re looking for a creative weekend trip that will get you out of your routine and deliver a unique adventure, we’ll have options for you.

We’ll have your back when you’ve got a week or two of vacation circled on the calendar and you’re trying to A) figure out where in the wide world to go and B) what to do when you get there.

We’ll also give our perspective on travel questions, issues, and broad strokes suggestions for how to think about your next adventure. Should you quit your job and travel the world with someone you really care about? (Spoiler: yes). Should you eat street food, and if so, how should you do it safely (Street food can be the safest!)? Is it too soon to go to Cuba as a U.S. citizen? (We’ll argue it’s almost too late!). We’re doing the advance work and thinking that should help pave the way for you to make the most of your travel time.

There are a lot of travel blogs out there. But this one is different. Our audience is one who is balancing the reality of working life and the passion for a life beyond the cubicle or open floor plan office. An audience that works to live, and really wants to maximize that life.

And, above all, we want to provide you with content that is useful and learn from you, our audience. To this end, we’d love to hear your stories and we’d love any and all feedback you have for us. Email, tweet, Instagram or smoke signal – we’ll be listening.

We’re writing because we love telling stories about the places we have been and the people we have met along the way – the travel of our lives that has made us who we are now. We want to be an inspiration for you and the people close to you. Life is too short to postpone adventure. And the best part is that you don’t need to. Get out and explore the world.
